When it comes to dinner, I weigh up decisively in the surf over turf camp. Mad for molluscs and crazy for crustaceans, my one lamentable seafood blind spot is octopus.
That is, until this week, when I was invited to take a crash course in how to prepare the eight-legged delicacy at Notting Hill Kitchen, with instruction from none other than top Portuguese chef Luis Baena. Being an epi-curious sort of girl, I had my apron on and hair ballet bun pinned back in a trice.
The class was just one event that forms part of Taste Portugal, a celebratory season of impeccable culinary dishes and wine from this pocket of the Iberian peninsula.
