As the name suggests, this colossus delves into the depths of the carnival’s history and tells the inspirational story of how this event came into existence and the people who created it.
The first ever book to recount the history of the city’s biggest street party, it includes accounts and images from the early years to the present day.
The book launch and photographic exhibition will be followed by a talk – titled ‘Carnival’s Contribution to Britain’ – and you can expect to find some of the old timers, those very pioneers of the carnival, in attendance…
