From live music to silent movies, mulled wine/mince pie-fuelled late night shopping to launch parties to tempt even the most Scrooge-inclined characters into a festive frenzy, Corner rounds up the best west London events to get in the Christmas spirit.

Until 4 December: Not So Silent Movies at the Electric Cinema combines improvised live music performed by top musicians with extraordinary silent films. Tickets at £25pp, £15 child ticket (under 14 years old), £60 for a family ticket on the Front Row Sofa.

3 December: Annual Christmas event at Ally Capellino, Portobello. Time to chink glasses and ogle arm candy.

3 December: Adidas, Ping and Mode club have joined forces to host a ping pong Tournament accompanied by drinks, laughs and consistently banging tunes at Mode, Notting Hill.

4 December: Dapper Stag party launches Woodhouse Clothing collection and celebrates 40th anniversary, with guest DJ.

4 December: Jimmie Martin on Kensington Church Street launches its latest furniture designs in the new Jimmie Martin penthouse suite on the top floor of art-focused hotel The Exhibitionist, South Kensington.

4 December: Westbourne Grove and Ledbury Road shopping event. Retailers will open until 8pm, with 20% discounts, Prosecco, mulled wine and mince pies.

6 December: Small Business Saturday. Author of The Girl’s Bicycle Handbook and founder of, Caz Nicklin will be at Justebikes all afternoon for a book signing event, with chances to test drive the electric bikes.
