We wrote about plans to open a hotel on Pembridge Gardens back in December; now we have even more information about the Laslett Hotel which, it has now been confirmed, will open this June. Amongst the details about the 51-room, which will be spread across five Victorian mansions, our attention was piqued by the news that furniture will be deigned by Pinch and Race, as well as the fact that the rooms will be stocked with amenities by Neal’s Yard Remedies. Additionally, we’ve learned that the menu at The Henderson Bar will conceptualised by Sally Clarke of Clarke’s restaurant, bakery and shop on nearby Kensington Church Street. Here, guests can expect warm pastries delivered fresh from her eponymous bakery for breakfast, as well kedgeree for weekend brunch and seasonal salads, sandwiches and soups at lunchtime, while coffee will be brewed with sustainably procured beans from Workshop Coffee Co and tea is from the award-winning Joe’s Tea Co. We also dropped hints that the hotel will also feature its own shop. We can now confirm that as well as collaborations with small independent London brands, the in-house boutique will stock own-brand scented candles, leather bags and shoes from Newbark, clothes and jewellery from Les Glorieuses and bespoke offerings from fashion designer Tracey Boyd’s ABOYDBAZAAR. With retail and dining experiences like these, who needs to leave the hotel?
