What to have for Christmas weekend dinner

My Christmas weekend dinner plans are all about indulgence but from a world food perspective. With a Chinese mum and an American father, and having grown up in a very multicultural city (Seattle, USA), my food cravings over the Christmas holidays mean all anti-carb rules go out the window, and all sorts of unusual delicacies hit the table.

Friday:

To begin: It all kicks off with a lychee chilli martini, followed by endless nibbles to share with friends to wind down the week: fried Monte Enebro cheese with an artisan honey, herbed polenta chips with a truffled mayo, Cornish crab with creme fraîche, Marcona almonds, and any other yumminess that fancies a pairing with my Contino Rioja Blanco
To savour: White pizza with fancy potatoes, wild mushrooms, rosemary and pecorino.
To accompany: Domaine Zind-Humbrecht Zind wine

Saturday:

To begin: Sedelscombe Biodynamic Sparkling Rosé paired with Vietnamese prawn summer rolls with an incredibly rich and tangy peanut dip (magical!)
To savour: Green Thai curry mussels and dark squishy rye bread with Rolly Gassmann Riesling
To finish: Black sesame ice cream

Sunday:

To begin: Chouffe Belgian beer (or any fragrant white beer) and calamari with black chilli oil and lemon aioli
To savour: Pumpkin gnocchi with butter and sage, and a salad of wild, organic greens, pumpkin seeds and pumpkin oil dressing teamed with Leyda Cahuil Vineyard Pinot Noir or Miss Harry Grenache Syrah Mourvedre
To finish: Pannetone with vanilla bean mascarpone and olive oil ice cream (or ricotta, pear and honey ice cream)
